For the opposition coalition, González Urrutia assuming power is a sign of the return to the rule of law, peace and quality services, ensuring that they will work towards a better quality of life for Venezuelans without discrimination.

The opposition Edmundo González Urrutia has insisted on several occasions that he plans to return to Venezuela to be sworn in as the country’s elected president, despite threats from senior executive officials that, once he sets foot in the country, he will be arrested.
In that sense, the leader Nicolás Maduro said the ambassador also makes calls to generate a “civil war” in Venezuela. He accused the leader of violating the agreements he signed with the Government before leaving the country for Spain, where he has been in exile since last August.
Maduro made the accusation during the night of Wednesday December 11. «Be careful with what you say from there, don’t be wrong with the people of Venezuela. In Venezuela there is not going to be war,” he said from an assembly in which details about the elections of justices of the peace that will be held next Sunday, December 15, were discussed.
Furthermore, the Minister of the Interior and JusticeDiosdado Hair, assures that the Unitary Platform lies to the citizens by stating that the dissident leader Edmundo González will arrive in the country on January 10.
He made the statement during his program With the gavel giving. In the broadcast, he stressed that the opposition has no way to negotiate anything with the government of Nicolás Maduro. Due to the above, he commented, the sector critical of the ruling party “took out” the commandos to “generate violence” in the days after the presidential elections of July 28.
