Through a statement released on the social network Twitter, the Unitarian Platform advocated the renewal of the mission so that the victims of human rights violations obtain justice.
The Humanitarian Platform thanked the rejection that several countries have expressed to the situation of human rights in the nation, after knowing the report of the Independent International Mission of Determination of Facts of the Organization of the United Nations (UN) in which it was ratified that the Venezuelan State is responsible for crimes against humanity.
“We have the support of 17 UN delegations that have spoken out with concern about human rights violations in Venezuela: the European Union, Canada, Liechtenstein, Ecuador, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the United States (USA). ), United Kingdom, Belgium, Uruguay, New Zealand, Portugal, Sweden and Paraguay”, highlighted the platform through a statement released through its account on the social network Twitter.
The opposition coalition stressed that for the aforementioned nations, both the persecution and submission to torture aimed at political dissidence, as well as the human rights violations of the indigenous populations around the mining arch, are the most outstanding and worrying aspects of the report.
“We support and ratify the request to demand the renewal of the International Independent Fact-Finding Mission so that it continues its work documenting human rights violations in Venezuela,” the text added.
