The Coordinating Union Table of Autonomous Entities and Decentralized Services of the PIT – CNT released a statement on Monday in which it questions the pension reform promoted by the government and urges its inmate to take actions to “defeat” an “anti-popular government” measure.

The table is made up of Association of Bankers, postal officials, the Colonization Institute, UTE, OSE, Antel, Ancap, the National Housing Agencyworkers of the Social Security and the Railway Union.
The union table maintains that the reform of the pension system represents “a brutal adjustment to the working class.” Therefore, they understand that it is necessary to generate a “greater degree of organization, resistance and struggle of the popular camp” to prevent the project from becoming law.
The congress of the table entrusted the executive secretariat to “structure a plan of fight” to face the reform.
Among them, that the subsidiaries of the PIT-CNT set up a “broad deployment throughout the territory to resist the reform in the streets.”
They also ask to carry out “at least two large mobilizations with an act and march in Montevideo” and in all the departments of the interior of the country that is possible.
Finally, they propose a general strike of 24 or 48 hours without ruling out any measure.
