Unasev will provide road safety workshops in Mevir complexes throughout the country

The National Road Safety Unit (Unasev) and Mevir signed, this Tuesday 24, a cooperation agreement to promote road education for the inhabitants of the towns where there are houses built by Mevir. The agreement includes theoretical and practical workshops in community halls and it is hoped, in a second stage, to establish a joint training school on this subject.

With the presence of the Secretary of the Presidency, Álvaro Delgado, and the heads of Unasev and Mevir, Alejandro Draper and Juan Pablo Delgado, respectively, an agreement between the institutions was signed in the Executive Tower.

The agreement establishes that both cooperate to promote road education for the inhabitants of the towns where there are houses built by Mevir.

Specifically, training spaces will be generated, for which the public housing body will provide the infrastructure, since it has more than 200 common rooms in 400 housing complexes throughout the country, and the road safety-oriented service will offer the framework of the educational project and will provide the teachers.

In the activity, the president of Mevir said that informative and theoretical talks will be held and highlighted the interest of signaling the internal streets of the properties to carry out the driving test practices. In addition, Delgado expressed that the next step will be the implementation of road schools in complexes of that institution.

For his part, Draper stressed that it is a work agreement between both institutions and that, for the organization he leads, road safety in rural areas is a constant concern.
