The Ministry of Public Works will close from this Monday to vehicular traffic different overpasses (includes elevated, tunnels and bridges) in Greater Santo Domingo, to carry out maintenance work.
The closing hours will be from 10:00 at night to 5:00 in the morning of the following day. This work will be extended until Saturday, October 22.
From Monday the 17th to Saturday the 22nd, the Quinto Centenario highway with Duarte Avenue (West-East direction) will be partially closed.
Also, for Monday the dry bridges of Mirador Sur avenue with Italy will be closed; Núñez de Cáceres with Cayetano Germosén; Núñez de Cáceres with Independence; Núñez de Cáceres with George Washington. The Núñez de Cáceres tunnel, bridge on Jacobo Majluta avenue, and the elevated ones of Churchill with Kennedy (South-West), Kennedy with Churchill (East-South).
The work to be carried out includes sweeping and aggregate collection, solid waste collection, weed control, general cleaning of the environment and drainage, pressure washing of ´New Jersey´ type walls, interior areas, and in some cases electrical work.
For this Tuesday it is time to close the elevated sections of Luperón Avenue with the 30 de Mayo highway; Kennedy with Núñez de Cáceres; Duarte with Duarte street (Los Alcarrizos); Charles de Gaulle with San Isidro, and Charles De Gaulle with Carretera Mella.
Likewise, this Tuesday the Ortega y Gasset tunnel control centers (UASD) will be closed; Las Américas and 27 de Febrero tunnel (electrical works).
On Wednesday it’s time for the overpasses of Ortega y Gasset with 27 de Febrero; Kennedy with Máximo Gómez; and the Ortega y Gasset tunnel with UASD; the elevated ones of the Kennedy with Ortega y Gasset and with Doctor Defilló, and the Ozama bridge.
On Thursday there will be a closure on the high roads of the Sánchez road with Independencia (kilometer 12); Express Quinto Centenario with Duarte Avenue; Fifth Centenary with the Pinzón Brothers; the underpass of Konrad Adenauer Avenue (Charles de Gaulle) with Mirabal Sisters; Jacobo Majluta with Guaricano entrance, and the Luperón bridge with the 30 de Mayo highway.
For Friday the closures include the bridges of the 6 de Noviembre highway; Sanchez highway; Ramón Matías Mella; Francisco del Rosario Sanchez; the elevated ones of the Duarte highway with Los Beisbolistas avenue (Manoguayabo), and Duarte with Monumental (entrance to Los Girasoles); the overpass of Padre Castellanos with Francisco del Rosario Sánchez (dry bridge), and the Luperón bridge with 30 de Mayo.
On Saturday it is time to close the overpasses of the 27 de Febrero Extension with the 6 de Noviembre highway (dry bridge); kilometer 14 of the Duarte highway (dry bridge); San Vicente de Paul with Venezuela (dry bridge).
