TSJ declares it appropriate to request Brazil to extradite a Venezuelan who entered stolen vehicles

The Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) declared it appropriate to request the active extradition of José Jesús Figuera Alcalá to Brazil, for being involved in the entry of stolen vehicles into Venezuela

In this sense, the president of the Supreme Court, Maikel Moreno, agreed to extradite the aforementioned citizen in order to be subjected in Venezuela to the corresponding criminal process for allegedly having been involved in the entry of stolen vehicles into the national territory, the TSJ referred. .

It was learned that the crimes attributed to Figuera Alcalá are: aggravated own corruption, crimes of money laundering, forging of a public document and use of a false public document.

The TSJ points out, through the ruling . 107-2022, which assumes the commitment before the Federative Republic of Brazil to follow up the criminal trial only in the aforementioned crimes, and with the guarantees established in the Venezuelan Constitution.

In addition, the Chamber of the Supreme Court highlighted compliance with the requirements for extradition, established in national and international legislation.
