A number of dump truck drivers closed the Cinquantenario-San Francisco road on Tuesday morning, generating heavy traffic in the sector.
The measure is due to the permanent increase in fuel prices and a greater participation in projects promoted by the National Government.
Julio Mendieta, spokesman for the group of truckers, said that like the rest of the Panamanians, they are also affected by the increase in gasoline every 15 days. This means that they cannot offer a better service and rate.
They demand that the National Government respond to the clamor of the transportation sector that asks for a concrete solution to the fuel issue.
