Tourism Week 2023: the most sought-after destinations to visit in Uruguay and how much they cost

The market has been showing good signs for the upcoming Tourism Week holidayssaid the president of the Chamber of Tourism of Uruguay (Camtur), Marina Cantera, in dialogue with Coffee & Business.

According to Cantera, on these holidays -which will take place between April 2 and 9- Uruguayans usually choose for domestic tourism, in the first place, proposals such as rural establishments or country hotels. In second place, preferences position the destinations located on the coast. And thirdly, the Cologne department specificallywhich is becoming more and more consolidated as a private destination to visit during the Tourism Week, expressed Cantera.

Rural hotels and establishments

In Villa Serrana, Lavalleja, there are different proposals from $2,000 to $7,000 a night. One such option is Indian Rest House, a Thai-style wood and mud hut at $3,223 a night (one-bedroom, two-guest). It also offers ample spaces for reflection and recreation, as well as yoga, meditation, outdoor hot tub, and massage services. In addition, it has the possibility for tourists to experience walks through the ravine, shamanic ceremonies, and guided horseback riding.

For a similar price, at $3,517 a night, there are also available cabins with other profileslike a loft 300 meters high, between the hills and undulations of the place, called La Recóndita.

For $4,019 a night, you can rent a “private room in dome”, which is located between 23 hectares of natural countryside of mountains with a stream. La Guarida, as the complex is called, has four beds and pets are allowed. It also includes parking, access to the lake and a specific place to make fires.

For its part, the hotel located in the tourist stay San Pedro del Timotein the department of Florida, offers stays for between US$145 and US$185 per person.

This proposal has services of homemade gastronomy and recreation, such as horseback riding in the countryside.

Another option in the interior of the country is the Flores Tourist Complex, located in that department. The night in that place is around $5,848. The enclosure is considered a rural hotel and offers access to a farm, simple restaurant, games and outdoor pool.

On the coast: Canelones, Maldonado and Rocha

The stay on the coast of Canelones has different tourist options whose value is between $2,000 and $7,000, according to the Airbnb accommodation platform. In this sense, there houses in Atlántida that have an outdoor pool and more than one bedroom, whose price per night is $3,686, is located 300 meters from the beach, and has a barbecue, parking, double beds and Wi-Fi. There are also other properties with similar characteristics (although with more bedrooms) for $8,749 per night.

Punta del Este, for its part, offers apartments from $3,500 a night. For $5,065 you can access a unit for up to four people at Solanas Vacation Club, which includes (for an extra US$10 per person) access to the Crystal Lagoon, exterior, interior, air-conditioned, a kids club, tennis and activities for children. Apartments with a view of the beach —precisely at Parada 10 of La Mansa— cost $6,907 per night. The unit, located in the Isla Gorriti building, includes 24-hour porter service and daily room service.

In the department of Rocha, there are cabins from $1,000 to $4,000 a night, according to Airbnb. A wooden cabin in the middle of the countryside (Expresso 232 complex), although close to La Pedrera beach, costs $2,750 a night, with capacity for two people. Meanwhile, a cabin for four guests with ocean views in Punta Rubia can be rented for $3,850 a night, as is the case with Almar Punta Rubia. In turn, in La Paloma in a natural environment, blocks from the ocean, a cabin for four people is available for almost $1,000 a night, as a special offer, on that accommodation platform.

Cologne

The department of the west coast offers several proposals for this Tourism Week.

In addition to the hotel offer, there are inns for $3,000 a night (Airbnb).
