Ton of cocaine seized in Caucedo Multimodal Port

The authorities reported the seizure of 1,129 packages that boast cocaine (1.1 tons) in the midst of an interdiction operation in the Caucedo Multimodal Port.

A note says that they acted the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), State intelligence agencies and members of the Public ministry, supported by Terminal Security.

“At the moment there are no people detained, we are starting the process, because since it is the contamination of a container, the investigations are more complex; however, we hope to be in a position to offer more details as the investigations progress”

He states that later and in the presence of a deputy prosecutor, they checked the container more rigorously and found 33 packages with packages of the substance wrapped in adhesive tape.

The authorities have determined that the shipment would be shipped to the port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, camouflaged in a load of shoes. The document states that the Public Ministry and the DNCD have opened an investigation.

The anti-narcotics agency reported that at the moment there are no people detained.
