Price of tolls as of June 2023 throughout Uruguay.

Since June 1, drivers in Uruguay have experienced an increase in toll prices for all national routes. This modification was made as part of a new regulation implemented by the government in May, which reduces the frequency of toll adjustments and establishes changes for official vehicles that were previously exempt.

Categories 1 and 2 They include vehicles such as cars, trucks (with up to eight seats, including the driver), as well as express buses, buses, mini buses, and tractors without a semi-trailer. In these categories, the cash fare price has increased from 160 to 170 Uruguayan pesos, while for electronic tolls it has gone from 122.50 to 134.46 pesos. These changes apply to both vehicles with a single-axle trailer and those without dual wheels.

Rates for Categories 3 to 5

Categories 3 to 5 include vehicles or cargo equipment with up to three axles and six wheels, buses with capacity for more than 25 passengers, and vehicles or cargo equipment with three axles and more than six wheels.

For these categories, the new cash fare price is 255 pesos, while with the electronic toll it is reduced to 199.82 pesos. Compared with the previous prices of 245 pesos in cash and 183.70 pesos in electronic toll, an increase in toll costs is observed.

Category 6: vehicles or cargo equipment with four or more axles

In category 6 are vehicles or cargo equipment with four or more axles that are not tri-trains. From now on, these vehicles must pay 525 pesos in cash, which represents a significant increase compared to the previous 260 pesos.

For the electronic toll, the cost is 407.97 pesos, in contrast to the previous 196.70 pesos.

Category 7: cargo vehicles with more than four axles and tri-trains

Category 7 covers cargo vehicles with more than four axles and tri-trains. These vehicles must now pay 875 pesos in cash and 682.73 pesos with electronic toll.

Compared with the previous prices of 490 pesos in cash and 371.10 pesos with electronic toll until May 31, there is evidence of a considerable increase in toll costs for this category.
