Three irregulars were killed after confronting a commission of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) in the 24 de Julio sector, Aguas Calientes, Pedro Maria Ureña municipality, Tachira-Colombia border.
According to reports obtained, those killed are members of the paramilitary group called La Línea, which operates in Ureña dedicated to the extortion of merchants.
Agents from the PNB’s Directorate of Strategic and Tactical Actions were deployed in that sector, who had been monitoring various irregular groups for some time that are trying to create chaos on the border.
The confrontation between subjects and uniformed officers took place at dawn this Saturday. The three killed have not yet been identified.
At the site, the uniformed officers collected two 9mm caliber Glock pistols, a 380mm caliber Prietto Beretta and ten cartridges, as well as the rest of an M-26 type grenade, thrown at the commission in the confrontation.
They presume that the La Linea group participated in the launching of a grenade at a liquor store and a pool, located in Ureña and where 14 people were injured.
That attack occurred eight days ago, a situation that was interpreted by the governor of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, as the prolongation of a wave of violence unleashed in Norte de Santander, Colombia.
