The Venezuelan Defense Ministers, Vladimir Padrino López; and from Colombia, Iván Velásquez Gómez, review the cooperation and security agenda to make a joint declaration on military and border security, with a view to further advancing relations between the two countries.
The Minister of Colombia and his delegation were received by Minister Vladimir Padrino López, and in his honor a military parade was held honoring his investiture.
Various authorities from the military and the Executive branch of both countries were present at the meeting, and from Venezuela were: the head of the Strategic Operational Command of the FANB (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez; the Vice Minister for Planning and Defense, Doris Negrón; the Vice Minister for Latin America, Rander Peña.
They will review cooperation agreements
During the meeting, the cooperation agreements between Venezuela and Colombia will be reviewed to advance in terms of military defense and well-being for both countries.
Border security is one of the priority issues of the meeting, as well as security and defense plans to combat border crimes, and bilateral relations will be reaffirmed.
third meeting
This new meeting is the third binational meeting between the Ministries of Defense of Venezuela and Colombia. It should be remembered that in September 2022 they met in the state of Táchira.
At that time they agreed on technical tables and established a common security agenda, to advance the military ties of both nations, in addition the opening of the borders was reviewed.
Also in 2022 they agreed to resume bilateral relations in military matters, they have highlighted that they have a joint work path to deliver results in the different areas of cooperation.
Venezuela and Colombia have a path drawn up together with a view to strengthening binational cooperation for the good of both peoples.
To date, the conditions of the population on the borders of both countries have improved, and it is intended to continue advancing on a comprehensive map of cooperation and for peace and Latin American unity.
