They will be able to pay Acodeco fines through electronic transactions

The fines imposed by the Authority for Consumer Protection and Defense of Competition (Acodeco), may be paid through electronic debit, credit or prepaid cards of any type of the VISA, Mastercard and Clave brands, this after sign an agreement with the Savings Bank for this purpose.

From January to December 2021, 1,795 economic agents were sanctioned in the first instance, for an amount of B/.1,865,317.77. The number of fines applied were: 2,259.

The first fines accredited to be paid with this methodology are violations of Executive Decree 165 (price control); Executive Decree 114 (marketing margins) and Law 45 of 2007 (consumer protection).

Acodeco assured that with this agreement an alternative means of payment is provided with high technology points of sale (POS) facilitating electronic commerce, with transactions using recognized cards with the proper security certifications.

The general manager of Acodeco, Jorge Quintero Quirós, and the general manager of the Caja de Ahorros, Juan Melillo, participated in the act of implementing the POS at the entity’s headquarters.
