At five in the afternoon on Monday, they decided to jump out of the boat because it was sinking. they were at 13 nautical miles (about 24 kilometers) from the seaside resort Mouth of the Cufrélocated on the border between San José and Colonia, 53 kilometers en route from Juan Lacaze.
They spent almost 22 hours in the water until other artisanal fishermen lthey found you, 1,800 meters from the boat, one for each side. That was the story of the artisanal fishermen who were searched hard by the National Navy and who were found this noon.
“They linked with the climatic conditions. With the temperature of the day and the water“, admitted the spokesman for the National Navy, Alejandro Chucarro. The Navy had found the boat a few hours before but had not yet been able to find them. Other fishermen, supported by the Navy, saw them floating. They were quickly transferred to the hospital for a picture of hypothermia.”they would not have spent the nightChucarro acknowledged.

Both fishermen had moved a few meters further than allowed for these boats, which can only fish up to seven nautical miles. As Chucarro reconstructed in conversation with the fishermen, they made a bad maneuver and the ship began to sink. That’s when they decided to jump in and swim as far as they could.
On Monday, the Sub-prefecture of the Coast informed the Sea Search and Rescue Coordination Center of the Navy that the vessel was “delayed for arrival time.”

The fishermen were found this afternoon
The Navy “attempted to establish radio communication, with negative results”hence sent officers to the last point where La Clarita was locatednear Juan Lacaze, an action that did not obtain results either.
For the search, the force derived a ship from the Cologne Prefecture and another of the Honorary Association of Maritime and Fluvial Rescues. In addition, it requested help for the land search from the prefectures of the Port of Montevideo, Trouville, and the sub-prefecture of Santiago Vázquez. To this he added a Naval Aviation Command plane. Later the artisanal fishermen also collaborated.
Both fishermen are hospitalized but stable, Chucarro said, acknowledging that “they hit it off like crazy” after being saved. “It was there for them, there is no other,” he assured.
