Officials attached to the Rural Commando Detachment 42-3 of the Bolivarian National Guard detained a man allegedly allied with the group led by Carlos Enrique Gómez Rodríguez, according to military sources.
The subject is identified as Carlos Gámez, leader of a cell that operates in the Andrés Eloy Blanco neighborhood, José Ángel Lamas municipality (Santa Cruz de Aragua), where he was detained.
The man was carrying a bag containing 48 7.62×39 mm caliber cartridges that fit in rifles and a radio transmitter.
Gámez was handed over to the Public Ministry to be prosecuted for illegal possession of ammunition.
And in the La Colombina sector, Valdez municipality (Güiria), Sucre state, a tear gas device was seized, held by Félix Ramón Escorihuela Villarroel and Darwin Del Valle Ramón, members of the El Pilo criminal group and who will be prosecuted for illegal possession of war material.
