They meet to follow up on the commitment not to generate increases

The executive director of the National Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights (Pro Consumidor), Eddy Alcántara, met with the main manufacturers of canned products in the countrywith the aim of following up on the commitment assumed by this business sector with the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, and with the community society, in the sense of creating offer mechanisms and price freezing in favor of consumers.

Alcántara explained that these industrialists undertook to keep the price of some higher consumption canned goods unchanged that could have suffered increases as a result of the universal inflation generated by the Covid-19 pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine.

The official said that the commitment of this industrial sector to maintain price stability is part of the sacrifice they have been making various sectors of society to face the situation that exists in the country due to the increase in the cost of raw materials in the international market and other external causes.
