They march to demand streets, drinking water

The Alcarrizos. Residents in the El Tamarindo neighborhood carried out a walk to demand the construction of schools, streets, sidewalks and curbs, as well as drinking water, after denouncing that they have not received a “drop” of the liquid for years.

Pastor Freddy Crisóstomo and Leonardo de los Santos, president of the El Tamarindo ll neighborhood council, added that the water shortage is due to the fact that the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (CAASD) placed several pipes in the street Napoleon Bonaparte, main road of that neighborhood.

They also demanded that the Ministry of Education finish a school that is currently abandoned due to the demand for classrooms in the area.

They said that other needs faced by the residents of the El Tamarindo neighborhood are the lack of paved streets, the construction of sidewalks and curbs, and a solution to storm drainage.

The community members demanded that the authorities resolve their needs urgently or else they are willing to carry out simultaneous protests throughout the neighborhood until their needs are resolved.
