This Sunday, one of the two missing divers appeared lifeless when they were conducting an outbound anti-narcotics inspection of a Cameroom-flagged vessel in José Bay, at the José Antonio Anzoátegui Petrochemical Complex.
It was unofficially known that the victim is Jackson Meza García, who in the company of Liam Marcano Rivas, carried out a routine inspection on Saturday afternoon of the vessel with registration IMO 9212864.
The body was rescued by officials from the Coastal Surveillance Command of the Bolivarian National Guard, the Guanta Coast Guard Command and Marine Firefighters, who activated the search to locate the divers from the service company Squalo Services based in Puerto La Cruz.
According to the Port Authority of the Anzoátegui Aquatic District, the report of the disappearance was received after six in the afternoon, because the divers did not get out of the water and stopped having contact with the rest of the workers who were in the surface.
Authorities confirmed that the search for Liam Marcano Rivas continues, but it has been made difficult by bad conditions in the area, waves and strong winds.
