A fourth grade girl from the Samaria-Sinai School, in the district of San Miguelito, died yesterday, of unknown causes, according to what the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported, lamenting this sensitive death.

According to the Minsa, the student who was transferred to the Manuel María Valdés Polyclinic without vital signs, is not registered as vaccinated against Covid-19 on the Minsa platform and at the time of performing the post-mortem swab test, it was negative for coronavirus.

The medical authorities indicated that after the consent of the parents, an autopsy would be performed on the body to determine the causes of death.

Faced with this case, the Minsa reminded parents that vaccines against Covid-19 “are safe and effective and that in Panama there have been no events of deaths due to the vaccine.”
