The Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur, and the Minister of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodis, inaugurated this Thursday in the Buenos Aires town of Escobar a road connection work that required an investment of $1,161 million.

The work consisted of paving 1,700 linear meters on Los Tulipanes street, in the Lambertuchi neighborhood of Belén de Escobar, from Inmigrantes Avenue to Route 25, to complement the comprehensive resurfacing and improvement work being carried out on that provincial route.

Manzur and Katopodis shared the opening ceremony with the mayor of Escobar on leave and president of the National Entity for the Control and Management of the Waterway, Ariel Sujarchuk; the interim mayor Alberto Ramil; and the Minister of Infrastructure and Public Services of the province of Buenos Aires, Leonardo Nardini.

Sujarchuk pondered the promotion of public works by the Government of President Alberto Fernández, and assured that 2021 “is going to be the year of greatest investment in infrastructure in Escobar’s history”, despite having weathered the “headwind” that the coronavirus pandemic represented in 2020.

In this context, he differentiated the management of Governor Axel Kicillof from that of his predecessor, María Eugenia Vidal, by pointing out that on this occasion “It was decided to do what the former governor left in the middle.”

For his part, Katopodis remarked that “the economy has already started with works that each neighbor and each neighbor can feel in their daily lives, such as the Avenida De Los Inmigrantes that we have already paved and the works on Los Tulipanes Street, which provide greater connectivity and development for neighborhoods in Escobar”.

The project included the renovation of the pavement along 13,300 square meters and a roadway with an integral curb to improve all circulation and connectivity in this main access, where the North Fruit and Vegetable Market and the Escobar Market operate, next to the Bolivian Community Shopping Center.

With this new intervention, it is possible to form a circulation ring for heavy traffic in a strategic commercial area of the district, decompressing traffic and generating better circulation in the Lambertuchi, Villa María and Santa María neighborhoods, and thus also safeguard the infrastructure of the whole area. The works included the hydraulic work of about 400 meters of pipe, which were linked to the existing one on Callao street.

With the work carried out on Los Inmigrantes avenue, the hydraulic sanitation of the streets is resolved directly and the pluvial runoff of the sub-basin in the vicinity of the layout and the San Francisco stream.
