PATERSON-New Jersey.- Unknown persons are destroying posters with political propaganda of the leading candidate for mayor for the elections on May 10 in this city, the Dominican Alex Méndez.
The posters are scattered in hundreds of businesses (warehouses, supermarkets, beauty salons, barbershops, restaurants, and stores, among others) located on the different streets.
The same prays: “For mayor. Let’s move Paterson forward together. Vision: Crime prevention. Tax stabilization. Better life quality. Cleaner streets. Attached is the campaign telephone number and contact e-mail: [email protected]
Dozens of political propaganda have appeared torn and scattered on Fifth, Main, Broadway, Madison avenues, Lafayette, Market, 21st, 24th, and 33rd streets, among others.

According to the last census, Paterson has more than 160 thousand inhabitants, and about 70 thousand are registered to be able to vote in the electoral processes.
65% is Hispanic, mainly Dominicans, then Peruvians, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Mexicans and Salvadorans, among others.
Likewise, hundreds of professionals, businessmen, politicians, community members, winemakers, religious figures, athletes, housewives, young people and members of clubs have made public their support for Méndez.
Noted Hispanic figures are calling to vote for Méndez, including former Major League Baseball player, Luis Poland; Doctors Félix Antonio Cruz Jiminián and Luis Cruz; the current senator from the DR, Héctor Acosta (El Torito); Manny Burgos, president of the Puerto Plata Provincial Committee in the United States, (COPROPUSA), the largest in the United States.
In addition, the mayors Héctor Radhamés Francisco and Manuel Pantalio of Los Hidalgos-Puerto Plata and Bayaguana, and hundreds of personalities from the social, political, business and community life of Paterson.
