Luedy Gregorio Chacón Márquez, 38 years old, was captured in Mérida for allegedly possessing a batch of weapons and ammunition, according to a report from the Strategic Intelligence Division (DIE), attached to the Bolivarian National Police.
Chacón was captured on Bolívar street, Mesa Las Palmas parish, Antonio Pinto Salina municipality (Santa Cruz de Mora), Mérida state.
During the procedure, the police officers seized 13 shotguns, seven of them Winchester brand, of different calibers and the rest without visible brand or serials.
They also seized 248 ammunition of different calibers; 5,300 grams of lead spheres for reloading shotgun ammunition; 360 grams of chemical gunpowder for ammunition reloading and 6 boxes containing 573 primers or ammunition starters.
The man was handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office where they opened a procedure for crimes contemplated in the Law for Disarmament, Control of Arms and Ammunition.
