The preliminary hearing is called for this Thursday in the Court National 1st Antiterrorist of Caracas in charge of Claudia López, who will decide whether or not to order Hernán Rafael Ron Infante, accused of being part of the criminal organization Plain Train.
Ron Infante was arrested on December 23 in Zaraza (Guárico) and accused of the alleged commission of the crimes of association, illicit trafficking in weapons of war and terrorism, according to file 01CT-060-2022.
In the accusation document, the Public Ministry explains a description of the Tren del Llano and the cell that this organization installed in the rural areas of the Pedro Zaraza municipality, eastern Guárico, where it commits extortion against agro-producers.
And in the midst of this exposure, the Prosecutor’s Office places Ron Infante as “part of the Organized Crime Structured Group, whose role is the collection of vaccines…”.
The file also reads the alleged participation of Urbano Rafael Linero González, a Cicpc-Zaraza official, as the alleged owner of a “surreptitious conspiracy” to link Ron Infante to the Tren del Llano.
Witnesses interviewed by the Public Ministry refer that this express accusation against Ron Infante is one more chapter in the dispute over a family inheritance which includes a herd located on Via Barrialito, one of the rural areas from where the Tren del Llano operates.
The Prosecutor’s accusation (MP-245550-2021) describes as one of the modus operandi of the Tren del Llano, to bankrupt agricultural producers by demanding large sums in dollars, to then send emissaries to buy their properties at low prices.
