They addressed the issue of health care for migrants, agreeing on the need to provide the medical services that these people require.
The Ministry of Health (Minsa) will reinforce, in coordination with the Ombudsman’s Office, the
care for migrants arriving in Panama through the community of Canaán de Membrillo, in the province of Darién.
This Monday the head of the Health portfolio, Luis Francisco Sucre, and his work team, together with the Ombudsman Eduardo Leblanc, analyzed the specific situation of this community where the number of migrants exceeds that of residents.
They addressed the issue of health care for migrants, agreeing on the need to provide the medical services that these people require.
Also participating in the meeting were Dr. Melva Cruz, general director, Indira Rangel, head of legal advice for Minsa, Yelkis Gill, director of Health Services Provision, as well as the deputy director of International Affairs, José Luis Vásquez, and the director of the Region of health of
Darien, Juan Rosales.
