According to Ranking U Sapiens 2022-1, Clasification of the best Colombian universities, according to research indicators, the National University of Colombia in Bogotá (position 1) and the University of Antioquia, in Medellín, (position 2) they were the top two universities in the country with a score of 144 and 118, respectively.

Third place was taken by Valley University, with a score of 73 points; fourth place went to University of the Andes (70 points), while fifth place went to Javeriana university (70 points).
For its part, the sixth position was occupied by the National university of Colombia (Medellín), the seventh place went to the Industrial University of Santander and the Bolivarian Pontifical University (Medellín) took eighth place.

The Technological University of Pereira ranked ninth and northern University (Barranquilla) completed the ‘top’ 10, with the tenth position.
The variables that were analyzed were: indexed journals (Rev), masters and doctorates (Pos), and research groups (Grp).indexed journals (Rev), masters and doctorates (Pos), and research groups (Grp).
