The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) issued this Wednesday a yellow warning for towns in 11 departments of the country due to strong storms and heavy rain. It will govern, in principle, until the time 23:00.
As explained by the agency, the phenomenon responds to a mass of humid and unstable air that generates storms, some of them punctually strong. In stormy areas it will be possible to register intense rains in short periods, occasional hail fall, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind.
“The situation will continue to be monitored and any changes will be reported,” Inumet said.
