The city of El Alto is celebrating and as every July 15, the traditional entrance in devotion to the Virgen del Carmen. The inauguration of the event began at 08:00 with an offering to Pachamama and a parade of authorities, led by the mayor Eva Copa, who asked the population to avoid excesses.

“We are asking the Pachamama for permission, so that everything goes well and that there is no mishap and that we live with joy and reunion in devotion to the mother of Carmen. We invite you to see the devotion of the dancers. Culture, identity and joy is what our fraternities are going to waste,” said the burgomaster before beginning her tour of Avenida Juan Pablo II.

This Saturday, 61 fraternities will tour the extensive avenues of El Alto until you reach the Silver Line station of My Cable Car. The box will be installed in the Plaza Libertad.

Copa asked party attendees to take care of minors and avoid excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages. For security, the Bolivian Police ordered the deployment of 500 troops for the folkloric entrance. The Mayor’s Office instructed 160 municipal guards to take care of the route.

Ambulances, patrol cars, the Ombudsman for Children, Legal Services and vaccination points will also be available to serve the population.
