The sixth batch of pediatric vaccines arrived in the country early this Wednesday

A total of 60,000 pediatric doses for children between 5 and 11 years of age, from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, arrived at the cargo area terminal of the Tocumen International Airport early this Wednesday, to continue with the National Vaccination Plan against Covid-19. 19, which undertakes Operation PanavaC-19.

With the arrival of the sixth batch of pediatric vaccines, there are a total of 372, a thousand doses since the arrival of the first shipment in Panama, last January.

This Thursday the pediatric vaccination continues in circuit 6-3 (Ocú, Las Minas, and Santa María) in Herrera; in circuit 7-1 (Las Tablas, Guararé, Pocrí and Pedasí) and 7-2 (Los Santos, Macaracas and Tonosí) in the province of Los Santos.

It will also be extended to circuit 8-2 (Capira) and 8-3 Chame and San Carlos in West Panama; 8-7 and 8-9 in Panama City and 9-2 (La Mesa, Las Palmas and Soná) and 9-4 (Atalaya, Mariato, Montijo, Río de Jesús) in the province of Veraguas.

From Tuesday, February 7, the second booster dose is applied to children between 5 and 11 years old who have been given the first dose for one month. The José Dolores Moscote Institute (Parque Lefevre and Río Abajo), IPT Don Bosco (Don Bosco), Parque Omar (San Francisco) and Cristal Plaza mall, the latter in the Juna Díaz district, will function as vaccination centers to apply these doses.

In the rest of the provinces, national and regional hospitals, as well as health centers and polyclinics, function as vaccination points for children between 5 and 11 years of age.

The national pediatric dose vaccinometer reflects a coverage of 19.8% and the target population to be vaccinated is 515,487 people.
