The SAT denies collections and surveillance of cash deposits

The confusion, specified the SAT, arose as a result of the proposal made by the Secretary of Finance to include in the economic package 2022 that the banks deliver cash deposit information on a monthly and not annual basis, as is currently the case.

“The proposal revolves around financial institutions grant monthly information of those taxpayers who are under a process of an audit, examination or review by the SAT, ”the statement reads.

Also, if inconsistencies between expenses and income, the SAT may request deposit information to financial institutions that have such data to avoid tax fraud.

Of the 70 million taxpayers, only 10,000 are reviewed a year, said the tax inspection body.
