Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, general director of Customs and member of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), assured yesterday that the ruling party has no plans to privatize absolutely nothing.
He made the point regarding comments from different political leaders, that the Government wants to privatize the Dominican State.
“After a year and a half of government, we haven’t privatized anything yet. We have nothing in the pipeline to privatize absolutely anything, ”she indicated, in an interview on Despierta with CDN.
He argued that the management of President Luis Abinader has been characterized by respecting the processes of the authorities that head the Directorate of Purchases and Contracts and the Public Ministry. He reiterated that in accordance with this policy, the President appointed people independent of the Government in these institutions. On the other hand, he reported that upon his arrival at Customs he reduced the response from the VUCE, which are windows to expedite the procedures in the export and import processes. He indicated that through the programs of authorized economic operators he delivered 60 certificates to small businesses. In another order, he highlighted the increase in the findings of shipments of contraband cigarettes.
He said that X-rays have a vital impact on trade.
