The Paraguayan Beach Soccer Team won the title of champion and the gold medal at the XII South American Games Asunción 2022.
On the fifth and final date of the competition, they authoritatively defeated the Peruvian team by the final score of 11-4.
The goals for the consecration of the Pynandi came from captain Carlos Carballo, on three occasions, Jesús Martínez on two occasions, Milciades Medina who also contributed a double, Jhovanny Benítez also scored two goals, joined by Carlos Valentín Benítez and Nestor Medina.
Paraguay obtained a perfect score in this competition by winning its four commitments adding 12 points, scoring a total of 32 goals and conceding only 11 goals. With these numbers, the Pynandi leave the title of champion and the gold medal of the XII South American Games Asunción 2022, at home.
The silver medal went to Argentina and the bronze medal went to Peru.

After the 11-4 victory against Peru in the World Cup stadium, today witness of another new conquest, Carlos Carballo and Valentín Benítez left their testimonies, already with the gold medal hanging on their chest, a pride for the whole country. “This is going to be a very nice memory to tell our children, our grandchildren. Thank this public that came to support from the first moment, that never abandoned us and for this reason, this medal also belongs to each fan”, said Carballo after the commitment.
“This is a process that we have been doing. Every tournament in which we participate we intend to go out and win and just like in the Copa América, we also achieved this medal undefeated and happily we are already getting used to it, “said Carballo.
This achievement is very exciting, it is the first time at home and we are leaving with the gold medal. We hope to continue down this same path. I am very excited, we are preparing for this and here we are, we continue in the fight and prepare for what is to come”, said Valentín Benítez, another of the architects of this new achievement for the Pynandi.
In Beach Soccer, Paraguay was at the top of the podium, followed by Argentina who took silver and Peru with bronze.
