On the night of this Wednesday, the third edition of “Heroes” was held, organized by Nación Media. The Paraguayan medalists were left with the main award.
Within the framework of this March 1st, the third edition of Nación Media’s “Heroes”, honored the Paraguayan medalists as “Heroes of the Year”, for the conquest of 48 medals in the Odesur 2022 Games held in our country.
The “heroes of the year” were awarded for having given everything and leaving Paraguayan sport at the top.
In the category “Civil Hero”, the Báez Sosa family was recognized, remembering that Graciela and Silvino were robbed of the most precious thing they had, their only son Fernando. Despite the pain, they did not stop fighting until they got justice.
As “Sports hero” was distinguished the soccer player Miguel Almirón, who with dribbling and goals led his team to the top of the Premier League and, in the process, became one of the most outstanding players in England.

In another part of the nightthe Ukrainian people were left with the category “Hero of Friendship”, due to resistance to a war that brings chaos and destruction. His friends have not turned their backs on him and, with Paraguay, the bonds of friendship have been strengthened.
In addition, as “Insignia Hero” was honored Marcelo Pecci, who fought against criminal groups and in the Public Ministry was one of those who best did his job as a prosecutor.
Kiara Takaoka was awarded as “Young Hero”. His story indicates that at the age of 13 he undertook a mission, to make us all understand Physics in a practical and easy way. He wrote two books that teach us and contribute to science in Paraguay.
In the category “People’s Hero”, was awarded Roberto “Chirola” Ruiz Díaz, who, through music, raised his voice to raise awareness about the care of the Atlantic Forest, an area threatened by the felling of trees and forest fires.
