In March of this year, the director of the Santa Clara Refrigerator received a call from the Secretary of the Presidency, Álvaro Delgado, asking him for a favor: to keep more than 450 kilos of frozen fish, which was a gift from abroad destined for President Luis Lacalle. Pou.

When it was stored, the Presidency took a box and then another the following month: a total of about 40 kilos, but the rest remained frozen until, supposedly, it was distributed months later in picnic areas and popular pots.
The problem with this donation, which passed -among others- through the Paso Carrasco Pots and Snacks Coordinator, is the freezing time, which could put the health of those who consume this fish at risk.
The bulk of the donation was made between October and November in two batches. According to the coordinator’s networks, the first donation was for five picnic areas and pots —Rincón de Luz, Sueño Solidario, Casitas Obreras, Rambla Costanera All Together for Children and God Can Do It—, while the second was for the “ pots and active picnic areas”, according to the aforementioned newspaper.
