The education unions mobilized with a march to the Executive Tower

The call for the strike this Wednesday was made by all the unions of public education, primary, secondary, UTU, the University of the Republic and the student unions of the IPA, Teachers and the University (FEUU). Private education workers (SINTEP) also joined.

The initial call was on the esplanade of the University and then they marched to the Executive Tower, in Plaza Independencia.

The unions claim for the salary lost in the last two years, they demand the creation of more positions in public education and a larger budget for education.

They also rejected “union persecution”, citing as an example the sanctions against teachers in San José and the Investigative Commission that in the Chamber of Deputies questions the use of union licenses in Secondary.
