The Dominican Republic has been losing 59,000 tourists per month as a result of the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The information was offered by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, prior to participating this Wednesday in the meeting with the American Chamber of Commerce of the Republic (Amchamdr).
He assured that the Dominican Republic has turned its strategy towards the Canadian market and assures that they are already recovering it.
He said that in the months of January and February 50,000 people were arriving in the Dominican Republic. Russian tourists and 9,000 Ukrainians.
“The Dominican Republic has been losing 59,000 or 60,000 tourists. We turned the country’s strategies towards the Canadian market, which is very important for the Dominican Republic,” Collado said.
