The drop in laboratory-confirmed infected continues: Ssa

The reduction in laboratory-confirmed covid-19 infections continued yesterday in Mexico, as the Ministry of Health (Ssa) reported that confirmed cases totaled 19,352, with a total of 6,754,447 people with a positive result for the SARS virus. -CoV-2, so far in the pandemic.

However, the deaths increased by 109, with which the accumulated number reported by the health authorities reached 327,713 deaths.

In contrast, active cases, that is, with symptoms in the last 14 days, also decreased, since 181,600 were reported this Saturday, with an incidence rate of 139.6 per 100,000 inhabitants. Mexico City, Baja California Sur, Colima and San Luis Potosí lead the list of entities with the highest number of infections with transmission capacity.

The daily technical report on the state of the pandemic in the country details that epidemiological week 29 (July 17 to 23) closed with a daily average of 19,585 infections, while in week 28 26,682 were registered. Likewise, 36 deaths occurred in the Republic, against 63 in the previous report.

Meanwhile, hospital occupancy of general beds stood at 17 percent and with a ventilator, intended for patients in critical condition, remains unchanged, with 5 percent. For this reason, the Ssa recommended that the population attend to the indications issued by their local and state authorities on sanitary measures.
