As stipulated by the CNE, candidates can only make political advertising and mass concentrations of their electors for electoral purposes as of January 29, 2022. On account of these concentrations, according to RCN News revealed, the CNE has received 12 complaints against Gustavo Petro for political advertising outside the legal timeframe.

The complaints refer to the political events of Petro, such as the rally in the public square of Barranquilla, the convocation in Pereira, or his speech before 5,000 people in the Lourdes park in Bogotá.
