The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) obtained the 2021 Quality Award, gold category, awarded by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR).
The ESQR, European Society for Quality Research, awarded the BCRD award in recognition of its “commitment, dedication and efforts to improve the achievements in quality management” of the institution.
The award, delivered within the framework of the ESQR Quality Achievements Awards 2021 Convention, held in Dubai, was received on behalf of the Central Bank by Mr. Samuel Castro, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in the United Arab Emirates.
The Central Bank was deserving of this important award after being evaluated along with 44 other institutions, representing 37 countries, dedicated to sectors such as public administration, banking, industry, technology, tourism, transportation, energy and health, among others.
The ESQR fosters a culture of quality, recognizes good business practices, technological innovation, achievements in terms of quality in organizations around the world, and disseminates the successful performance strategies of these organizations.
The Governor of the Central Bank, Héctor Valdez Albizu, accompanied by Vice Governor Clarissa de la Rocha de Torres and Manager Ervin Novas Bello, thanked the ESQR for granting this award and the Minister Council Castro for receiving it on behalf of the BCRD.
“At the Central Bank we are governed by international practices and standards, rigorously complying with the objectives and functions conferred on us by the Constitution of the Republic and the Monetary and Financial Law 183-02, based on planning, execution, control and evaluation. of the processes ”, indicated the governor. He added that the BCRD considers talent management, change management, risk management and continuity, financial management, without forgetting the technological infrastructure, as the parameters that must make up optimal quality management as a whole.
Valddez Albizu affirms the BCRD values the award
Governor Héctor Valdez Albizu congratulated the departments, officials and technicians who are in charge of quality management in the institution, noting that this recognition of the ESQR is evidence that the Central Bank values this issue and dedicates efforts and resources to strengthen the culture of quality in the organization.
