The president of the National Association of Prosecutors (ANF), Francisco Bravo, indicated that “it was practically an obligatory issue” to refer to the letter from the Puebla Group in which they sympathize with Marco Enríquez-Ominami for the SQM case and criticize the Public Ministry.
in conversation with Channel 13Bravo declared that “I had already given a statement in the course of the morning, that we found these expressions of some ex-presidents and current presidents unacceptable, such as the case of President Fernández. What ultimately slips is practically an accusation of corruption towards the prosecutors. If they are linked or agree with former President Piñera, that this is a purely political issue.”

“We are very impressed by the statements, and what we have all said online, without agreeing, is that this is completely inadmissible, unfair, unfair. We were surprised and, of course, we categorically reject it,” added the leader of the ANF.
On the other hand, Bravo commented that there are persecutors who “have been working on this for many years” and that “we investigate facts constituting crimes, we do not look at the investiture or the condition of the accused, if it is Mr. Enríquez-Ominami or Mr. Longueira, who are also from different political sectors, is irrelevant”.
Along these lines, the president of the ANF emphasized that the prosecutors who have investigated the case are “particularly careful”, since they know that there is not only “a lot of attention to the case, but also that eventually there is pressure, and that is part of the annexes to the work and you have to be prepared to deal with these kinds of situations.
