More than 250 taekwondoka from Cuba and 18 other countries will compete in the first Havana International Open of that discipline, from June 2 to 5, according to the local sports press on Tuesday.
The appointment, category G2, will take place in combat and poomsae (combination of defenses and attacks in movements against imaginary opponents) under the auspices of the World Taekwondo Federation, specified the sports portal Hit.
Likewise, it will give points to the first 12 placed in the competitions that will begin with the poomsae exhibitions of the martial artists.
Athletes from Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Lesotho, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Peru, Guatemala, Germany, Yemen, Haiti, Guinea Bissau, Nicaragua, Cyprus, Morocco, Egypt, the Dominican Republic and Cuba will participate in the fair.
When the International Open concludes, the third edition of the Havana Taekwondo Festival will take place from June 5 to 7, “aimed at giving an opportunity to all those practitioners who do not have a place in the World Federation ranking,” according to the publication. .
The First Havana International Taekwondo Open will be held at the Ciudad Deportiva Coliseum.
