Every May 21, International Doctor’s Day is commemorated, which seeks to highlight the work carried out by medical professionals who, with vocation and service, contribute to care within the health system in each country.
In this sense, the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, praised the hard work that doctors carry out daily in the different health facilities nationwide and the role they have played in the face of Covid-19.
Sucre thanked all the medical personnel for the extraordinary work they have done during the pandemic, which he said has been very difficult, complex and with few resources, but despite the obstacles they have come forward to do a laudable job with responsibility and commitment. .
“I feel very proud not only to be a doctor, but to be part of the team that has constituted this pandemic and I reiterate let’s continue doing things well because Panama has done very well,” said the head of the Portfolio.
In Panama it is celebrated on this date because on May 21, 1951, the doors of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama were opened for the first time, a class that would graduate in 1955.
