The students demand more budget for education (6% of the Gross Domestic Product), more and better scholarships and more resources for the University of the Republic. And this Tuesday the 16th they received the eviction warning, under the argument that “the occupation of the Institutes and Centers inhibits the right of students who do not agree with said measure and who have the right to continue their studies on a regular basis, and in turn, the right to work is also affected”.
The note, signed by the general secretary of Anep, Rosana García Paz, then warns that if the occupation continues, “it will be necessary to adopt actions to preserve the right to education and work”, which implies that they will be evicted by the Ministry of the Interior on the day of this Wednesday 17.
