Representatives of the Traffic Directorate of the Municipality of Maldonado, together with members of the Police Headquarters of Maldonado, Caminera and Prefecture, met to finalize details and coordinate the work that will be carried out on the night of Wednesday 24.
As every year, different operations will be implemented to control documentation, perform spirometry and detect other substances, through different working groups that will be distributed at strategic points in the department.
The chief commissioner of the Maldonado Police Headquarters, Danny Cairus, explained that the tasks will begin at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, and will last until the early hours of the morning on Thursday, August 25, when the night activity ends.
The general director of Transit and Transportation of the IDM, Juan Pígola, added that there will be a command and each position will have a representative. Likewise, he stressed that “the operation will demand the work of approximately 120 officials in the departmental territory.
On the end, Pígola requested the collaboration of the population in the framework of that special night and with great vehicular movement. Therefore, he recommended “taking care of yourself, not committing excesses and maintaining prudence.”
