The Ramo Verde inmates have seen how their rights are not guaranteed even though in recent days the Venezuelan government received the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, who will establish an office in Venezuela
Military defendants and convicts held at the National Center for Military Prosecutors (Cenapromil) of Ramo Verde held a protest on the morning of June 10, to demand that they be supplied with water, since they denounce that they have not had it for at least five days.
The non-governmental organization that defends human rights SOS Family Freedom He made the complaint public and explained that the protest is against the director of the detention center, Omar Lozada.

Although the NGO did not detail how many prisoners are participating in the protest or the number of soldiers held in Ramo Verde, data from Foro Penal, which monitors political prisoners in Venezuela, points to 154 soldiers arrested in the country.
Less than 48 hours ago, Nicolás Maduro was shaking hands with the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan. Together they signed a document confirming the installation of an ICC office in Venezuelawithin the framework of an investigation led by the entity to determine responsibility for crimes against humanity committed in the country.
Despite the presence of the ICC in Venezuela, the rights of political prisoners, both civilian and military, are undermined every day, regardless of the visits by representatives of international organizations.
Relatives of political prisoners denounced after the visit of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the Austrian Volker Türk, at the end of January, that the abuses against the prisoners increased.
While these complaints accumulate, the Chavismo authorities promote a narrative of normality within the prisons. The Minister of Penitentiary Services, Mirelys Contreras, has toured Ramo Verde with the intention of “verifying the decent conditions of confinement and the guarantee of human rights”, but the relatives denounce a completely different reality.
