“The person in charge of the administrative unit who will be in charge of the office will be the teacher José Guadalupe Medina Romero, who serves as the general director of government of this administrative political body,” he adds.

The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office reported Monday that a judge ordered the temporary suspension of Sandra Cuevas, head of the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office, for being accused of theft, abuse of authority and discrimination.

Sandra Cuevas has denied the accusations against her.

Last February, the capital prosecutor’s office reported that it opened an investigation against Cuevas, after two police officers accused the official of having assaulted them and held them in the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office.

Cuevas, who snatched the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office from President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s party, the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), has been in the midst of controversy since taking office.
