San Lorenzo neighborhood was under water after the last rains

Hoy Paraguay

After the rainfall that occurred in the last few hours, the intersection of Amambay and Pacurí streets in the Mitâ’i neighborhood was completely under water.

Some 32 houses were affected after the flood recorded in that sector of the city of San Lorenzo, forcing several people to even move to another place.

This scenario is not new since the same situation is experienced with each storm, according to the residents of the neighborhood, who are already tired of suffering with the water in their homes.

One of the residents explained that a “basin” type effect is produced there, since rainwater falls directly from other streets to stagnate in that block, remaining that way for several days.

Volunteer firefighters came yesterday to try to pump out the remaining water but were unsuccessful due to the magnitude of the problem, and had to withdraw again.

The residents of the Mitâ’i neighborhood ask the authorities of the Municipality of San Lorenzo for a definitive solution to this problem with which they have been dealing for several years, in order to install a storm drainage system to prevent further flooding.

The entrance San Lorenzo neighborhood was under water after the last rains was first published in diary TODAY.
