Given the lack of garbage collection and the accumulation of waste in various points of the San Francisco corregimiento, the residents of the sector have been affected by the proliferation of rats, a situation that keeps them worried and they cry out to the authorities to take action.

Mario Julio, a resident of the area, also indicated that the increase in commercial places has contributed to the presence of these rodents, since they do not know how they are handling their waste, grease ramps, etc.

“We are concerned that rat feces is harmful to the health of humans and animals,” he said.

He stated that he spoke with the representative from San Francisco, and told them that they do not have the resources or the scope to collect garbage daily.

Julio stressed that they have been forced to hire a private collection service in order to control the garbage issue a little, but they consider that the authorities in general should get involved.
