Rodríguez: There is no reason to continue a dialogue with people without a word

The plenipotentiary representative of the Peace Dialogue process, and head of the delegation on behalf of the Government of Venezuela, Jorge Rodríguez; on Tuesday urged the opposition sector to comply with the agreements signed in Mexicolast September.

During his speech at the session this Tuesday in the National Assembly, the also president of Parliament asserted that, by not complying with these agreements; there is no reason to continue the dialogue with these political sectors of the country.

«If something in which I believe is in the pledged word. Those representatives of the Venezuelan right who signed a social agreement in Mexico City in the presence of the government of the United Mexican States, of the accompanying countries such as the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Russian Federative Republic and with the endorsement of United States, because it must be said, they asked him first, they requested authorization from their owners in the United States. If the return of the 3,200 million dollars that we had agreed to is not fulfilled, there is no reason to continue a dialogue with people without a word,” Rodríguez warned.

“There is a signature, you know, and nine more signed, comply, there is nothing sadder than a man without a word,” added the parliamentarian. “If I put my signature on a document, my moral, ethical and spiritual obligation is to comply with and enforce those agreements,” he stated.

In statements made during the ordinary session of this Tuesday in the National Assembly, Rodríguez emphatically rejected the constant threats, promoted by the different sectors of the opposition; of wanting to reimpose the sanctions and insist on the blockade against the country.

«There is nothing more despicable than signing a paper knowing or suspecting that they were not going to be able to fulfill that task. We are not saying that they give money to anyone, we are saying that they return what was stolen, that they return what they have kidnapped for hospitals, for the national electrical system. Put your threats where they fit, “he snapped.

Given the new threats made by the United States government to reimpose sanctions and insist on the blockade, Rodríguez said that “this country will continue to grow regardless of its threats, continue with your instructions to maintain sanctions and the blockade against Venezuela because we are going to continue growing,” he added.

“If they become radicalized, well, that’s what we will know about, if we become radicalized, we will go through the lining of their threats, representatives of North American imperialism.”

In this regard, he stressed that the country will not bow to any foreign nation.

In the same way, he rejected that the opposition Primary Commission seek to finance these elections, with the money that is kept sequestered abroad.

It should be remembered that the agreement – signed in Mexico – contemplates recovering schools, the health system, services, particularly, the electrical system with regard to the recovery of more than 3,000 million dollars that belong to the Venezuelan State and were kidnapped by States United States and its allies in various countries.

After the signing, President Nicolás Maduro held meetings with different representatives of the opposition, to define an agenda that allows addressing the economic, social, and political issues and consolidating stability in the country.
