Riots and looting in the Peruvian city of Huancayo

The carriers demand compensatory measures for the rise in fuel prices, among other demands, and the Government has yet to create a commission to talk with the strikers who have been blocking dozens of highways since last Monday.

President Pedro Castillo announced last Thursday measures to control the situation generated by the stoppage of freight transport and said that it is maintained by a small group of paid elements, which caused rejection by the leaders of the movement.

The transportation and agricultural conflicts were added to protests that block the accesses and the activities of important mining centers.

The Presidency of the Council of Ministers, recorded until March 28, in an evaluation of its Secretariat of Social Management and Dialogue, recorded the existence of 114 social conflicts, between active and latent and between the first seven active and 30 imminent.
