Regime requires negative COVID-19 test to authorize repatriation of Nicas murdered in Guanacaste

The relatives of the five Nicaraguans murdered on July 9 in Costa Rica denounced that the Nicaraguan regime prevents the bodies from entering because they must present a negative test for COVID-19. They consider that this situation is a form of retaliation by the Daniel Ortega regime.

From midnight on July 12, they await authorization to cross the border. They are on the Tico side of the border with Peñas Blancas. The intention is to take the remains of their loved ones to their place of origin, Matagalpa, where they will be given a Christian burial. Recently their relatives were asking for help to raise the requested amount to repatriate their bodies.

The deceased persons respond to the names of: Miguel Jarquín Cardoza, Pedro Hernández Cardoza, 42 years old, Amparo Cardoza Orozco, 55 years old, Isidro Orozco Loáisiga, 29 years old, and Jonathan Cardoza Rivas, 25 years old. The Ministry of Security of Costa Rica detained on Sunday, July 10, two suspects of the crime.

In statements to the Costa Rican media Teletica, they affirmed that from the Costa Rican authorities they received all the support for the delivery and transfer of the bodies to the border line.

On Monday, relatives of the victims were also about to fall for a scam. A subject with the surnames Ramírez Téllez, who had six arrest warrants for fraud with funeral plans, was arrested at the morgue when he allegedly tried to help those affected and had even given him an amount of money.

According to relatives, the suspects were traveling in a vehicle with a woman and posed as a member of a religious group. As for the suspects in the massacre, the Santa Cruz Criminal Court imposed six months of preventive detention on the two men, surnamed Rojas and López.

The events occurred around 9:00 at night in the sector known as El Silencio de Huacas in Santa Cruz-Guanacaste, when at least three men violently broke into the house where the victims were and immediately, Without saying a word, they fired shots, as a result of which the five citizens died on the spot.
